ABOUT US
With Carnhill Group’s UK-based design and production facilities, and with the help of our overseas component and manufacturing partners, our aim is to supply you with the best value and highest quality transformers, chokes and inductors.
Our production process starts with the raw materials – wire stock, alloy cores, enclosures and PCB’s. Our custom winders then assemble the coil onto the core, according to the product specifications, using digital winders for maximum accuracy. Bobbins are then taped and encapsulated depending on the inductor design.

Carnhill Transformer’s classic range of hand-built audio transformers and Inductors are world-renowned and integral to many prominent professional pre-amp and mixer manufacturers. Over 30 years of design and manufacturing experience makes us the first choice for standard & custom built toroidal isolation transformers.
We offer various ranges of standard bobbin-wound isolation transformers, ranging up to 100VA. Our switched-mode transformers are mainly made to meet customers’ specific requirements, using a wide range of ferrite core shapes. We produce PFC inductors and output storage Inductors on a variety of ferrite core shapes. Our dimmer chokes offer a range of inductances and rise-times for each current rating.

With suppliers in the UK, Far East and Europe, Blore Bowron can offer you one of the widest range of transformers currently available within the UK, both standard stock parts as well as custom designed transformers and wound components.
In our new factory in Oxford we stock a vast range of standard transformers including PCB (open style), Chassis mount, PCB (encapsulated), Low-Profile and Toroidal Transformers, many of which are fully approved to the latest European standards as well as UL and VDE.
Blore Bowron was acquired by the Carnhill Transformer Group in 2008, complementing Carnhill Group’s three manufacturing sites, each of which specialises in different aspects of transformer and wound product manufacture.
